"Let's Legislate For The Unexpected" - Ron from "Goodnight Sweetheart"
Just returned from the most amazing weekend at Greazefest. Well done Lorilee for putting on a such swell show. So many amazing bands, stunning women, dapper fellas and wonderful friends. Wow.... Sharing a room with Ms Candice was quite entertaining to say the least.... There was definitely no noise, no pillow fights, no late night after parties where everyone and anyone was invited and no alcohol consumed ... thats right.. there was none of that!!!! NOT.. The Rocklea International (yes we said "International" Ha Ha) Hotel did not know what hit them.. A plethora of beauties... no not just the cars... and a whole lot of happiness made for a great weekend... Amongst the many highlights was having one of the most talented of pinup photgographers, Miss Kitty from Melbourne do very quick photoshoot with us on the Saturday.. My first ever photoshoot and what a lovely experience. Thanks Bec... you rock.... Also meeting Nada Rose from whom I will be ordering a beautiful frock from Something Else Clothing - Can't tell you which one just yet but will show you next newsletter... mmm can't wait.. Purchased the most amazing Slide Comb Red flower that sits so perfectly and for $20 was so worth it.. You can get yours from BexTerity.

Next Stop.. Canberra.. today... -3 degrees.. ouch.. How can you wear pretty flowing vintage frocks in that weather I ask you... well this year has seen us travel to cold climates quite often (Ballarat, Tasmania and Melbourne all in winter!) so Kim and I are becoming quite clever in our dress sense to keep warm..... It goes something like this:
- Thick Compression Pantyhose then either Cubans or fishnets over the top.
- Thermal Singlet then Thermal 3/4 sleeve over that
- Waist Cinch
- Full Petticoat
- Frock
- Cardigan
- Fur
- Gloves, hat & scarf
Yes we feel 10 kilos heavier and have become experts at peeling off as we descend back into sunny Qld usually whilst on the plane...quite entertaining for the Air Stewards.
The upside is that we get to spend time with some amazing ladies in our workshop on Saturday morning then go to lunch and then go to a swing ball at Parliament House before hitting the late night dance after party!! I think somewhere in there we will sleep before heading home on Sunday after a brunch....
I hope you all have a fabulous August....., I know I missed July but will make up for it with another edition in a couple of weeks.... Until then xx
Chrissy xx

From the Desk of Ms Carly:Clothing and Style
Dress is certainly one of the important aids to beauty. Some people have an natural ability to assess their key features and know how to accentuate them, others find out through the process of experimentation and some through the aid of a dear friend or style consultant. Be objective, know what your are working with and find a way to showcase your best bits. Perhaps you have a small waist, fantastic legs, slim ankles, taut arms or great decolletage. Whatever it be, choose styles show off one of your key features, for the principle of balance is one which must be observed. There are many resources which give tips on how to address certain figure flaws. For example, I have a short waist and have to be mindful of dressing in a way which creates long, continuous lines. I cannot wear belts as they cut me in half and I look better in things which are one, solid colour. Of course there is nothing wrong with having such a 'problem', but the trick is learning how to disguise it through the art of optical illusions. I also think well fitting clothes are essential. Being in size denial is not an ideal state of mind. Things which are too tight or too loose on the wearer are not appealing. There is always the option of taking garments to a tailor if you haven't any sewing skills. Also, be sure to take an honest friend with you on your next shopping trip to ensure that you come away with some fabulous pieces that do your figure justice no matter what shape or size you are, there is something out there for you! As much as the clothes you wear can make a statement, it is also how you wear them. Make sure that you select pieces that you are comfortable in, ones which you won't be constantly tugging at as it will be evident that you are uncomfortable and people will be looking at you for the wrong reasons.
Don't forget to accessorise as well - a lovely pair of earrings, an unusual hat (accompanied by a fabulous hairdo!), a statement necklace, sky high heels and a fabulous bag. Do remember about the principle of balance and decide what will be the focus of your outfit. Sometimes more is more, but then again sometimes more can be far too much!
Of course, one of the most important things to be mindful of are your foundation garments - corsets, girdles, waist cinchers, lingerie for they are what will ensure that you will maintain smooth lines once you put your outfit on. Invest in good quality undergarments, the best that you can afford, which will last and give your clothing a longer life and also ensure that you will be looking svelte all the time! Have I mentioned Vintage Charm by Kim? Her waist cinchers are definitely the way to go - highly effective and comfortable with two styles to choose from and various colours available.
Xx Miss Carly
